Adelie Host – Terms of Service

1. Overview
Adelie Host provides simple, reliable static website hosting for small businesses. By using our services, you agree to the terms outlined below. These terms are designed to keep the service low‑maintenance, predictable, and sustainable.
2. No Contract or Commitment
- All hosting is month‑to‑month.
- You may cancel at any time.
- Service ends immediately upon cancellation.
- No refunds are provided for partial months.
3. Static Websites Only
Adelie Host builds and hosts static HTML/CSS/JS websites. Our service does not include:
- databases
- user accounts or logins
- e‑commerce
- dynamic applications
- custom backend features
- third‑party integrations requiring server‑side code
If you need these features, we can recommend alternative platforms.
4. Content Updates
Hosting includes one content update every 6–12 months, depending on your plan.
Additional updates are billed separately at a flat rate.
Examples of billable updates include:
- text changes
- image swaps
- adding new sections or pages
- layout adjustments
Rush or same‑day updates are not available.
5. Client Content Responsibility
Clients are responsible for providing all text, images, and media used on their website.
Adelie Host does not create written content, photography, or branding unless agreed upon separately.
6. Email & SMTP Responsibility
Adelie Host does not provide email hosting.
Any email forwarding, SMTP services, or inbox providers used by the domain owner are the responsibility of the client.
Adelie Host is not responsible for:
- email delivery or reliability
- spam filtering
- SMTP configuration
- third‑party outages
- lost or undelivered messages
We can assist with DNS records, but all email services are managed by the client and their chosen provider.
7. Domain & DNS
Clients own and manage their own domain names.
Adelie Host assists with DNS configuration but is not responsible for domain renewals, expirations, or registrar issues.
8. Content Restrictions
Adelie Host does not allow any of the following content:
- NSFW, adult, explicit, or mature content
- sexual content or adult services
- graphic or violent material
- hateful, abusive, or discriminatory content
- illegal activities, scams, malware, or harmful behavior
Exceptions may be granted only with prior written approval from Adelie Host.
Adelie Host reserves the right to decline, suspend, or remove any website that violates these guidelines.
9. Third‑Party Services
Hosting is provided through Cloudflare Pages.
Domains, DNS, and email services are provided through third‑party platforms chosen by the client.
Adelie Host is not responsible for:
- downtime or outages
- performance issues
- data loss
- service changes
- disruptions caused by third‑party providers
10. Fair Use Policy
Hosting plans are intended for small business websites with light content needs.
Excessive update requests, support needs, or feature demands may require upgrading to a higher plan or may be declined.
11. Support Availability
- Support is available during normal business hours, Monday–Friday.
- Typical response time is 1–3 business days.
- Emergency or after‑hours support is not offered.
12. Ownership
- Clients own their content, branding, and domain name.
- Adelie Host manages hosting and deployment.
- Source files can be provided upon request.
13. Right to Refuse Service
Adelie Host may decline or discontinue service for any website that:
- violates these terms
- poses security or legal risks
- requires features outside the scope of static hosting
- engages in abusive or inappropriate behavior
